There is an attempted break-in every two minutes in Germany, with more than a third of the attempts actually being made. The most important reason for this: mechanical security devices and additional elements effectively increase the burglary protection of your four walls. If a burglar doesn't succeed after a few moments, he prefers to move on. It is neither expensive nor complicated to make your home significantly more burglar-proof.
According to a study by KfW, in 2016
– 40.4% of burglary attempts on the windows,
– 40.7% on sliding doors and
– 10.2% held at the front door.
The remaining attempts were made through other openings (e.g. in the basement) and via the roof.
It is therefore necessary to make the break-in so difficult that the perpetrators stop trying. In the case of windows and balcony doors, the anti-burglary effect is achieved by fitting the window glass and lockable handles.
Another protection comes from the use of security shutters. In addition, windows, especially on the ground floor and basement, can be protected with window grilles. For front doors, multiple locking systems offer greater security. Additional bolts and safety chains can also be used here.
KfW offers subsidies for retrofitted mechanical burglary protection.
We would be happy to advise you in our exhibition, where you can also get a first impression of the technical possibilities of mechanical safety devices.
