Our home is a familiar place that we don't want to leave because of a disability. Accessibility is often associated with restricted mobility in old age. However, restricted mobility does not necessarily depend on age, because parents, children and young adults can also find themselves in the situation of having to deal with the issue of accessibility in the living situation due to a disability.
If you suddenly need aids due to illness or an accident and the apartment or house has to be converted to be barrier-free, there are solutions for all living areas that can be implemented at acceptable costs with careful planning.
Public funding programs of the federal states, the long-term care insurance, the pension insurance institutions, the trade association, the statutory accident insurance or the integration office assume the costs in individual cases (pro rata).
The conversion measures for barrier-free conversions are diverse, from widened, floor-level and stepped entrances and doors, to non-slip floor coverings, to stair lifts, vertical lifts and internal and external wheelchair ramps.
In addition, showers and sinks in bathrooms, for example, as well as toilets must be adapted to the restricted freedom of movement.
In our exhibition you will get a first impression of the possibilities of barrier-free conversions. We would be happy to advise you on planning the areas to be converted: entrance and interior doors, windows, exterior and interior ramps, stair lifts and bathrooms.
